Connecting to the Steam on a MAC

To watch the Highlands live webcast, you will need to do the following. As there is no functional Windows Medial Player for Mac OS X 10.5 and up, you will need to use the VLC player for mac. Please follow the instructions provided.

1. First you are going to need the VLC player for mac, to watch the stream, you can download the package from this url You are going to want to click the download link for the following Latest Mac OS X package for 10.5 and later (release 1.0.1)

2. Once it’s been downloaded it’s going to mount itself on your system, by which I mean that it will show up as a disk icon on your desktop, it will be named vlc-1.0.1.

3. Double clicking on it the package, will open a window in finder. To install the application, drag the VLC icon (it looks like a cone) and drag it into the applications short cut. That will install the application on your mac.

4. Now to connect to the stream, when you have launched the VLC application, click on the file menu link, then select the option that says open network.

5. In the dialog box type in the following address http://stream.hcm-stratford.org/hcmlive for server 1 or http://stream.hcmstratford.org/hcmlive for server 2

6. If we are broadcasting, the stream will start to play in a few seconds. We usually broadcast from 10.30am EST to around 2.30 – 3.30 pm depending on how the service goes.
