Mercy Ministries
When we planted Highlands, the Lord spoke to us and said He was going to restore the "Church of the Book of Acts", where all were a family and no one had need of anything, because everyone shared all they had with each other. Based on that, we opened our Mercy Ministries. This is a ministry focusing on meeting the material needs of people. The first step of this ministry is the "Freely Give and Freely Receive" room at the back of the church. We encourage people to donate anything they want to share with others. Simply bring an item and leave it in that room. We also encourage people to come and take anything they want from that room. All articles are free to take and one does not need to ask permission to take it. This ministry is available to anyone in the Highlands family and, also, to anyone in the community - regardless of religious belief. Anytime the building is open, do feel free to come leave or take anything you want for yourself or for anyone you know who can use it.
Since this ministry began, we have had people donate clothing and shoes, household items, electronics, household appliances, furniture, money, money to buy food vouchers for those in need, cars, and much more. The needs of many have been met this way and we look forward to becoming a greater resource for the Kingdom of God and for the community. |
